anti-CD137 FITC Conjugate

Human CD137 (4-1BB) is expressed on activated T cells within 24-48 hours of activation (3).  CD137 is a type I membrane protein and a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily (1,2).  CD137 appears to be important for T cell proliferation and survival (4) and induces monocyte activation (5).

Isotype: Murine IgG1 kappa

Immunogen: Ectodomain of recombinant human 4-1BB fusion protein

Specificity: Antibody 4B4-1 recognizes the CRDII extracellular epiopte (8) of the human CD137 molecule of about 35 kd on activated T cells (3).

Functional Application: Antibody 4B4-1 interferes with binding of Biotinylated Recombinant CD137-huIg (502-030) to CD137L on Raji cells, but does not block binding of Recombinant CD137L-muCD8 (503-020)  to CD137 on surface of stimulated CEM cells.   Immobilized mAb has been shown to induce TNF a production by monocytes(6) and IFNg production by NK cells(7).
