CD56(trn)-muIg Purified (Preservative-free)

Human CD56 is an adhesion molecule from the Ig superfamily which is restricted to NK cells in the immune system.  It is believed that NK cells form a first line of defense against tumor cells and cells infected with bacteria and viruses.

Molecular Structure: A soluble fusion protein consisting of the extracellular  loop domains 1-4  (370aa) of human CD56 (20)LQVDIV….CTASN(389)

fused to murine IgG2a Fc and hinge (232aa), with a predicted monomeric molecular weight of  kd 67.8.

Transfectant Cell Line: CHO

Functional Application: CD56(trn)-muIg fusion protein blocks binding of anti-human CD56 antibody (cat #308-020, but not cat #208-020) to NK cells present in ficoll prepared human PBL.
